Calls to Action from Women Leading Fossil Fuel Phaseout and A Just Transition - COP28 Press Conference

Dubai, United Arab Emirates — On Saturday, December 9, women leaders will share vital reports and critical strategies to advance a fossil fuel phaseout and accelerate a Just Transition while supporting communities and ecosystems impacted by extractive industries and human and Indigenous rights violations.


This press conference follows the civil society wide Global March for Climate Justice also taking place at the COP28 venue, and will highlight recent successes by the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, as well as fossil fuels impact on frontline communities and the need for an immediate Just Transition. This event will be a press conference organized by the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) at COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
