Suzanne York is Senior Writer with the Institute for Population Studies in Berkeley, CA. She focuses on the interconnectedness of population growth with women’s empowerment, human rights, consumption, alternative economies, and the environment. Ms. York posts on the blog: 6 Degrees of Population and is the author of several reports, including Peoples' Rights, Planet's Rights: Holistic Approaches to a Sustainable Population and Prioritizing the PHE Approach: Linking Population, Health, and Environment for a Better World and has reported on international human rights, globalization, and environmental issues. Ms. York was a contributing author to International Forum on Globalization’s (IFG) report: Paradigm Wars: Indigenous Peoples' Resistance to Economic Globalization and primary researcher for IFG’s Alternatives to Economic Globalization. She is a member of the Sierra Club’s National Global Population and Environment Committee and a board member of the Women’s Environmental Network in San Francisco. She has a Masters’ in Public Policy from American University.
