This is the message of several Year 5-6 girls who at 10-11 years old are all avid young organic gardeners, plus one young indigenous male who was adamant to support the women & is already a passionate environmentalist and determined tree planter at just 11 years old. After learning about this global movement of women sharing their collective voice on what they're doing to protect our environment, offer hope and affect change towards climate justice, the young ones proceeded to brainstorm and discuss this passionately, finally coming up with their own words here on the page: WE CAN Heal the world By saving seeds! Growing our own food And planting more trees! #moreschoolgardens #respectnature May our world leaders pay attention to the growing voice of the youth and listen to our collective call to conserve & protect not just from ground up but from top down as well! (Behind the scenes: much fun was had harvesting their veggies, gathering flowers, seeds and garden goodies to style this photo... The fresh mulberry juice border and underlining was all them!) So proud of these future earth guardians who are determined to learn and protect despite some of the difficult circumstances of their neighbourhood and childhood. It warms my heart to know that they will be part of the next generation where (I hope) climate justice is simply an everyday norm.
