TUVALU UPDATE (Re-posted/Complete) Women Act for Climate Justice: Ten Days of Global Mobilization - October 28 to November 6, 2016! Via Milikini Falaitusi, Focal point/campaign mobiliser; Member of Tuvalu 350 (Main campaign organiser), Pacific Partnerships on Gender, Climate Change and Sustainable Development (PPGCCSD), and other climate activism groups. This campaign is also in partnership and supported by the Gender Affairs Department of the Government of Tuvalu. Tuvalu Women Climate Justice: 28th October 2016/Friday 8.00-9.00am (Tuvalu Broadcasting Corporation) Radio Program: Gender Affairs department, 35O Tuvalu, to talk about the work they do in relation to climate change. Brief overview of the whole 10 ten days of activities was provided. 29th October 2016/Saturday 8am –11am at Govt Building Car Park Fun Bike Race Everyone was invited especially women to come with bike starting at 8.00am starting from Vaiaku Maneapa all the way to the wharf and back to the terminal where the main purpose of the event was to highlight highly renewable energy, women as agent of change and calling leaders for COP22 that Tuvalu is calling for 1.5 in order for them to survive. 30th October 2016/Sunday - Women Climate Justice Sabbath Every church in Tuvalu to dedicate all their service to climate change Sabbath and pray for COP22 31st October 2016/ Monday – Radio Program Te lalolagi Fafine is a slot for women to talk about struggles, stories from frontline to the impact of climate change. 350 Tuvalu organised it. 1st – 4th November 2016/ (Tuesday – Thursday) Campaign by 350 Climate Warrior. Collecting of frontline stories, Women Climate Justice Endorsement 5th November 2016/Saturday – Tuvalu Climate March for COP22 March will be commencing from the Tuvalu Government Building to the hospital and then back calling leaders for their commitment for COP22 to keep fossil fuels in the ground, 1.5 to stay alive etc 6th November 2016/ Sunday- Candle Light Vigil Elizabeth 11 Park In memory of those people who loss their families, friends from the impact of climate change at the Queen Elizabeth Park 11.
