Fiji Women Act for Climate Justice: Ten Days of Global Mobilization 10 Days of Action in Fiji and Pacific small island states, with others across all regions. Day 3 of 10... Feminists and women human rights defenders across Fiji and in solidarity with those in every region fighting for water and food sovereignty, LGBTQI rights, SRHR, gender justice, universal human rights and solidarity economics, and against corporate and elite capture of the State and our communities. We struggle for social, economic, climate and ecological justice, and have come together to demand justice for ourselves, others and the planet. Pacific women say: *We are defending the Commons, that can only be owned by all, and owned by none *We are defending each individual on this planet, and our global ecosphere *We know that massive and urgent economic, social and environmental change is needed to save the planet *We know that the current economic system serves only the elite, and never the interests of grassroots local people, much less women, girls and other marginalised groups *We know that there are strong and networked women and people everywhere working to change this already, and now we will better connect *We are coming with counter-actions and positive strategies, and we will loudly and strongly defend and promote them as alternatives to the current ecocidal madness where we all lose, and only a small number gain. We remind governments and elites that they too will lose in the end if they do not change. *We Will Never Give Up on our Beautiful Planet! #WomenAct4ClimateJustice #WomenDefendCommons PLEASE SHARE WIDELY. -For weeks before the campaign, diverse women and people in Fiji and the Pacific have interviewed and discussed issues of gender, climate justice and defending the Commons. Activists and community leaders created their quotes/statements, decided on photographs, and these have been turned into memes. -We also held community meetings with various leaders, to widen the movement. These will continue. This is only 10 days of a wider campaign of growing resistance and urgent action, analysis, advocacy and movement-building on gender, climate and ecological justice - and defence of the Commons.
