City/Country: Nelson, Canada
For our action, we focused our biweekly radio show -- Climate of Change -- on women and climate justice. We timed this to spread the word about the Women Act for Climate Justice's 10 days of mobilization. The show also featured an interview with WECAN’s Osprey Orielle Lake. The show aired locally this week in Nelson, British Columbia, and also airs on several other stations across Canada. The podcast of the show was shared on our Facebook page to spread the message. The podcast and a musical montage were uploaded onto YouTube and shared with you here. This show is a partnership with three women friends who are passionate about climate change and its solutions. We are deeply concerned about its impacts around the world, and are submitting this action in solidarity with the many brave women who are on the front lines of climate impacts. Locally, we feel the impacts of climate change with wildfires, droughts, extreme weather events, and reduced snowpack. We know the impacts are much more severe in other parts of the world. Our hearts are with you, as we help spread the word about the urgent need to address climate change.
