www.sistemabiobolsa.com Ing. Irene Sanchez de la Rosa is the Head of Field Operations for Buen Manejo del Campo, a Mexican social enterprise dedicated to installing Sistema Biobolsa biodigesters for small-scale producers across Mexico and Central America. The biodigesters allow small-scale family farms, and medium-scale dairies and slaughterhouses to transform their animal waste into valuable biogas and bio-fertilizer, displacing LPG and woodfuel costs and emissions, capturing GHGs otherwise given off by decomposing waste and protecting watershed from chemical fertilizer use and manure run-off. Ing. Irene has coordinated the installation of over 800 of these systems, leading a team of 11 skilled technicians, holding over 300 community demonstration events and training community members across Mexico, and off-setting 3,000 TCO2e to date. Through Ing. Irene's tireless effort and dedication, over 6,000 direct beneficiaries now off-set their farm's GHG emissions through the use of the system, benefitting also from improved health and sanitation and economic savings on traditional fuels and chemical fertilizers.
